Tommie Gorman
Tommie Gorman is a respected reporter and analyst, He worked with the national broadcasting service, RTE, for 41 years, serving as Belfast-based, Northern Editor (2001-2021), Brussels Editor (1989-2001) and North West Correspondent, (1980-89). He now writes for The Currency. He was named Ireland’s European of the Year in 2002, was awarded an Honorary Degree by NUIG and is a Freeman of Sligo. He and his wife, Ceara, live in Sligo and have two adult children. His mother, Maureen Harkin, was a native of North Leitrim and his father, Joe, came from Coolaney in Co. Sligo.
