Susan Carton
Susan moved to Kiltyclogher in 2004 with her partner Paul. Born and reared in Dublin, she was looking for a different quality of life and was drawn to Leitrim for the beautiful unspoilt landscape, the spirit of the people and the peace and quiet.
In 2013, Susan got involved with Love Leitrim, a grassroots community group, who were interested in protecting Leitrim and the rest of the country, from the threats posed by Fracking. Following a successful campaign, culminating in the passing of a ban on Fracking in June 2017, Susan became involved, with the rest of her community, in the campaign to secure the primary school in Kiltyclogher. She currently works in St Angela’s College in Sligo where she is Programme director for the BA (Health and Disability Studies) and BA (Disability Equality Studies).
