Sinead Guckian

Born in County Leitrim, Sinead Guckian was an elected member of Leitrim County Council from 1999 to 2019 and held the position of Cathaoirleach on two occasions. 

With a background in Information Technology, Procurement and Fine Art, since withdrawing from politics, Sinead now works as an artist in her native village of Drumsna. Sinead’s art works are to be found in both private and public collections. The painting, “Her Surrender”, may be viewed in Seanad Eireann, Leinster House and her portrait of Sean Mac Diarmada is on display in the Heritage Centre Kiltyclogher, Co. Leitrim.
