    Jim Connolly

    Jim is a sculptor by trade, he is originally from Limerick
    but moved to Co. Clare in 1972. He is synonymous
    with the rural resettlement movement, having
    founded the voluntary organisation, Rural
    Resettlement Ireland in 1990. This registered charity
    boasts of facilitating the rural resettlement of over
    800 families in various rural areas to date.
    Jim has also founded the Irish Rural Dwellers
    Association (2002 – member appointed to An Bord
    Pleanala – 2012). Other initiatives include The
    Open Fair ( 1992/1993 & 2011) and the Safe Driving
    Pledge (2005-2010). In 1993, Jim was presented with
    a People of the Year award for the establishment of
    the Rural Resettlement Programme.
